Step-by-step

Power off device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off to completely shut down the LG V40 ThinQ.

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the right edge of the frame and remove the tray.

Heat back glass perimeter
2 minApply heat uniformly around the outer edges of the rear cover with a heat gun for 2 minutes to soften the glue.

Attach suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup securely near the bottom edge of the back glass.

Slice adhesive seam
3 minPull up on the suction cup to create a gap and slide a plastic opening pick beneath the glass perimeter.

Lift back cover slightly
2 minGently hinge open the glass cover from the left side, taking care not to strain the attached sensor cable.

Disconnect fingerprint cable
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex connector straight off the motherboard.

Remove back cover
1 minSet the loosened rear glass cover completely aside onto a clean surface.

Unscrew top midframe
3 minRemove the 10 Phillips #00 screws securing the top midframe and wireless charging pad.

Remove wireless charging coil
2 minPry up the edges of the upper midframe and remove the wireless charging assembly from the device.

Disconnect battery press connector
1 minUse the plastic spudger to disconnect the battery flex cable to prevent any short circuits.

Unscrew lower speaker assembly
2 minRemove the 5 Phillips #00 screws holding the loudspeaker housing at the bottom of the chassis.

Remove loudspeaker housing
2 minInsert a spudger under the speaker module and lift it out of the phone.

Disconnect antenna coaxial cables
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the blue and white antenna cable connectors straight up from the daughterboard.

Disconnect interconnect flex cable
1 minPry up the main interconnect flex cable connector attached to the top of the daughterboard.

Unscrew charging port board
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the USB-C daughterboard to the lower housing.

Remove faulty charging port board
2 minPry beneath the daughterboard to break remaining light adhesive and lift the board out of the phone.

Set new charging port board
2 minPosition the new USB-C daughterboard into the frame cutout and press it firmly flush into place.

Secure charging port screw
1 minReinstall and tighten the single Phillips #00 screw to lock the new daughterboard in place.

Reconnect interconnect flex cable
1 minAlign and snap the main interconnect flex connector directly onto the replacement daughterboard.

Attach antenna coaxial cables
2 minSnap the coaxial antenna connectors precisely back into their sockets on the daughterboard.

Reinstall loudspeaker housing
2 minPlace the loudspeaker module over the bottom assembly and secure it using the 5 Phillips #00 screws.

Reconnect battery press connector
1 minPress the battery flex cable connector firmly onto its motherboard terminal.

Reinstall wireless coil midframe
3 minSet the wireless charging midframe in place and tighten the 10 Phillips #00 screws.

Reconnect fingerprint sensor
2 minHold the back cover near the frame and snap the fingerprint flex cable back into its motherboard socket.

Seal back glass
3 minApply new adhesive around the frame edges, lower the rear glass into place, and press firmly along all sides.

Reinsert SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the right side of the device until flush.
