   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before continuing.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole beside the SIM card tray. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

   Heat the rear glass cover

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the rear glass for two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the glass to the frame.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the back cover near the bottom edge. Pull up on the suction cup handle to create a small gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created between the glass back cover and the phone frame. Take care not to push the pick in too far.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick along the bottom, sides, and top edges of the device to cut through the glue. Reapply heat if the adhesive cools down.

   Slightly lift the back cover

   Gently lift the right edge of the rear glass up like a book cover. Do not pull the glass off completely, as the fingerprint sensor is still connected.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex connector straight up from the motherboard. Set the rear glass aside.

   Unscrew the upper midframe

   Remove the ten Phillips #00 screws securing the wireless charging coil and top midframe cover. Place the screws in a safe container.

    Remove the wireless charging assembly

    Pry up the edges of the wireless charging shield using a plastic spudger. Lift and remove the assembly from the phone.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Locate the battery connector on the motherboard and pry it straight up with a plastic spudger. This cuts power to the device while you work.

    Apply battery adhesive remover

    Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol or battery adhesive remover along the sides of the battery. Wait one minute to let the solution break down the glue.

    Pry up the battery

    Insert a flat plastic opening pick or spudger beneath the bottom corner of the battery. Slowly pry upward to separate the battery from the chassis.

    Lift and remove the battery

    Gently pull the battery out of the frame once the adhesive releases. Do not force or bend the battery during removal.

    Clean the battery recess

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery well using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol. Allow the area to dry completely.

    Install new battery adhesive

    Apply new pre-cut battery adhesive strips into the empty battery well. Peel off the protective film from the top of the adhesive.
