Power Off and Eject SIM Tray
1 minTurn off the phone completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the right edge to remove the SIM and MicroSD card tray.

Heat Rear Glass Cover
2 minApply heat using a heat gun around the outer edges of the back glass for 2 minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the rear glass panel to gain traction.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
3 minPull up on the suction cup to create a gap, then insert an opening pick into the seam to cut through the perimeter tape.

Remove Rear Glass
2 minSlide picks along all four edges to slice through remaining tape, then lift the back cover free from the chassis.

Unscrew Upper Midframe
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the plastic upper midframe and NFC/wireless charging assembly.

Detach Upper Midframe
1 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the midframe assembly and pop it off the chassis.

Remove Loudspeaker Module
2 minUnscrew the 5 Phillips screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing and lift it off the board.

Disconnect Battery
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using the flat end of a spudger.

Disconnect Front Camera
1 minDisconnect the front-facing camera module from the motherboard using a spudger and set it aside.

Disconnect Display Cable
1 minUnplug the main display press connector located near the bottom of the logic board.

Disconnect Aux Flex Connectors
2 minPry up the press connectors for the audio jack and power/volume side button array.

Unscrew Logic Board
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw anchoring the logic board to the inner frame.

Remove Logic Board
2 minLift the motherboard gently from the bottom edge and lift it out of the frame entirely.

Remove Earpiece and Vibration Motor
2 minUse precision tweezers to lift out the top earpiece speaker and coin vibration motor from their frame slots.

Extract Battery
4 minApply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the battery edge, then pry it free with a flat spudger.

Prepare Replacement Screen Assembly
1 minPeel off all protective clear or blue plastic film covers on the back of the new screen frame assembly.

Transfer Components to New Frame
2 minPlace the earpiece speaker and vibration motor into their corresponding recesses in the new frame.
