Safety
- Wear eye protection to guard against flying glass splinters when removing the cracked display.

Step-by-step

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the right edge of the LG V30. Press firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

Heat Rear Glass Panel
3 minApply a heat gun or hairdryer along all four edges of the back glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive beneath.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass panel and pull upward gently to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Pick
1 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created beneath the back glass at the bottom edge.

Slice Rear Adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick slowly around the entire perimeter of the phone to cut through the back glass tape.

Remove Rear Glass
1 minLift the rear glass cover off the body frame and place it on a clean surface.

Unscrew Upper Midframe
3 minRemove the ten Phillips #00 screws securing the upper plastic midframe and wireless charging coil assembly.

Pry Off Wireless Charging Assembly
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the upper plastic frame and lift the wireless charging module out.

Remove Loudspeaker Module
2 minUnscrew the five Phillips screws at the bottom and lift out the speaker module.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex connector straight up from the motherboard.

Extract Battery
5 minApply mild heat to the center front glass to loosen battery glue, then gently pry out the battery using a plastic card.

Disconnect Display Cable
1 minPry up the display flex cable press-fit connector located near the lower section of the mainboard.

Disconnect Front Camera
2 minUnplug the front-facing camera connector and lift the camera module out of its recessed slot.

Remove Motherboard
3 minPry up the motherboard gently from the top edge and lift the entire board clear of the phone frame.

Heat Front Screen Assembly
3 minHeat the front glass perimeter with a heat gun for three minutes to soften the display panel adhesive.

Separate Screen Panel
5 minInsert an opening pick under the edge of the OLED panel and slice around all edges to remove the broken screen.

Clean Old Adhesive
4 minScrape off residual glue and glass particles from the metal frame using isopropyl alcohol and a spudger.

Apply New Frame Adhesive
3 minLay pre-cut display adhesive strips smoothly onto the inner perimeter rim of the phone frame.

Install New Screen
3 minThread the new display flex cable through the frame slot and press the screen firmly into place along the edges.

Reassemble Internal Hardware
5 minReinstall the motherboard, reconnect all flex cables, insert the battery, and screw the midframe shields back on.
