Safety

Overview
Step-by-step
- 1
Power off and eject SIM tray
1 minTurn off the phone completely. Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the SIM tray hole on the side to remove the SIM and microSD tray.

Heat the rear glass panel
3 minApply heat to the outer edges of the rear glass cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup tool
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass cover and press down firmly to secure a seal.

Create an opening gap
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup while pressing down on the frame to create a small gap. Insert a plastic prying tool into the seam.

Slice through the adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic prying tool around all four edges of the device to cut through the perimeter adhesive.

Remove the back glass cover
1 minGently lift the rear glass panel away from the chassis and set it aside.

Unscrew the midframe covers
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the upper wireless charging coil and lower speaker assembly.

Remove upper wireless charging assembly
2 minInsert the point of a spudger under the edge of the wireless charging assembly and pry up to detach it from the frame.

Remove lower speaker housing
1 minPry up the lower speaker enclosure from the bottom of the chassis and lift it out.

Disconnect the battery press connector
1 minUse a plastic spudger to gently pop the battery flex connector straight up off its socket on the logic board.

Disconnect display flex cable
1 minPry the main display flex cable connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

Disconnect front camera
1 minUse a spudger to detach the front-facing camera flex connector from the motherboard.

Disconnect headphone jack
1 minUnplug the headphone jack flex cable connector from the top portion of the logic board.

Disconnect bottom flex cables
2 minPop off the daughterboard interconnect connector and antenna cables near the bottom of the main board.

Remove motherboard retaining screw
1 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the top corner of the logic board.

Pry up the logic board
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the bottom edge of the logic board and gently lever it upward out of the frame.

Remove the logic board
1 minGrasp the logic board by the edges and carefully lift it out of the phone chassis completely.
After your LG V30 logic board repair
Power the V30 back on and test the logic board repair function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair. If something fails after closing the device, reopen carefully and reseat the connectors for this LG V30 job before assuming the part is defective.
