Step-by-step

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM ejector tool into the pinhole on the right edge of the device to pop out the SIM and microSD tray.

Heat Rear Glass Edges
2 minApply a heat gun evenly around the perimeter of the rear glass for two minutes to soften the frame adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the back glass, just above the USB-C port.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap and insert a plastic opening pick under the rear glass edge.

Slice Rear Glass Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the phone to slice through the adhesive holding the glass.

Remove Rear Glass
2 minLift the rear glass off the frame. Clean off any residual adhesive sticking to the edges.

Unscrew Frame Covers
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the ten screws securing the wireless charging shield and lower speaker housing.

Remove Wireless Charging Module
2 minGently pry up the top plastic cover containing the wireless charging pad using a spudger and remove it.

Remove Lower Speaker Assembly
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the lower speaker module and lift it out from the bottom frame.

Disconnect Battery Press Connector
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger to cut power.

Disconnect Sub-Board Flex Cable
1 minUse the edge of a spudger to snap the main flex interconnect cable off the charging port daughterboard.

Disconnect Antenna Coaxial Cables
2 minCarefully pry up the black and white antenna cable connectors from the sub-board using tweezers.

Remove Sub-Board Screws
2 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the USB-C daughterboard to the bottom chassis.

Remove Damaged Charging Port Board
2 minPry underneath the old charging port daughterboard to loosen its mild adhesive and lift it out of the phone.

Position New Charging Port Board
2 minSet the new replacement USB-C daughterboard into the bottom chassis recess and press gently into place.

Secure Daughterboard Screws
2 minReinstall the Phillips #00 screws to anchor the new charging port sub-board down.

Reconnect Antenna Cables
2 minAlign and snap the white and black antenna coaxial connectors onto their respective sub-board terminals.

Attach Sub-Board Flex Connector
1 minPress the flex interconnect connector firmly onto the new daughterboard socket until it snaps shut.

Reconnect Battery Cable
1 minAlign the battery press connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly to connect it.

Reinstall Lower Speaker Module
2 minPosition the lower speaker housing over the daughterboard area and press down to seat it clip-tight.

2 minPlace the top midframe cover with the wireless charging pad back over the motherboard and press into place.

Fasten Rear Frame Screws
3 minDrive the ten Phillips #00 screws back into the upper midframe cover and bottom speaker module.

Apply Pre-Cut Rear Glass Adhesive
3 minLay fresh pre-cut adhesive tape along the outer rim of the aluminum frame chassis.

Reattach Rear Glass and Seal
2 minAlign the back glass over the frame, lower it into place, and press along the edges firmly to seal.
After your LG V30 charging port repair
