Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Shut Down on the screen to completely power off the device.

Remove the SIM and SD card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the SIM tray and press firmly to eject the card holder.

Heat the rear glass panel
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the perimeter of the back panel for about 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the rear panel and gently pull upward to create a small gap.

Slice perimeter adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic prying pick into the gap and slide it along all edges to cut through the waterproof adhesive.

Remove the rear panel
1 minLift the rear glass cover straight off the chassis and set it aside in a safe spot.

Unscrew the lower midframe
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws holding the lower speaker frame in place.

Pry up the lower speaker frame
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the lower midframe plastic and pop it loose from its retaining clips.

Extract the old loudspeaker module
1 minUse tweezers or a flat spudger to pry the original loudspeaker out from its recessed compartment in the housing.

Clean motherboard contact pads
2 minInspect the gold spring-pin contacts on the motherboard and gently wipe away any dust or residue using isopropyl alcohol.

Insert the new loudspeaker
2 minSet the new loudspeaker module into the lower frame cutout and press gently to seat it in place.

Snap the lower midframe into place
2 minPosition the lower midframe over the speaker assembly and press down along the edges until the plastic clips engage.

Fasten midframe screws
2 minReinstall and tighten all Phillips #00 screws into the lower frame until snug.

Apply new rear cover adhesive
3 minPeel and position new pre-cut adhesive strips along the inner border of the phone chassis.

Reinstall the rear glass panel
2 minAlign the rear cover with the body and press firmly along all perimeter edges to secure the water-resistant seal.

Reinsert the SIM card tray
1 minPush the loaded SIM tray into its slot until it fits completely flush against the outer housing.
