Step-by-step

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the SIM tray. Press firmly to pop out the tray and remove it completely.

Heat Rear Cover Edges
2 minApply heat to the edges of the back cover using a heat gun for approximately 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass panel. Pull gently up to create a small gap near the edge.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Carefully slide the pick along all four sides to slice through the adhesive.

Lift Off Rear Panel
2 minGently lift the rear cover away from the phone body, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor flex cable.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pop the fingerprint reader press connector straight up off the motherboard.

Unscrew Midframe Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the internal plastic midframe assembly.

Remove Midframe Assembly
2 minInsert a plastic pry tool under the edge of the midframe and carefully pop it loose from the phone housing.

Disconnect Battery Connector
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a spudger to cut power.

Disconnect Display Press Connector
1 minUse your plastic spudger to detach the main display cable connector from the top right section of the board.

Disconnect Auxiliary Flex Cables
2 minCarefully detach the front camera cable, volume button flex, and lower daughterboard interconnect cables from the motherboard.

Remove Motherboard Retaining Screws
2 minRemove the remaining Phillips #000 screws anchoring the logic board directly to the front screen frame.

Lift Logic Board Out
2 minGently lever up the bottom edge of the logic board with a spudger and lift it clear from the chassis.
