Power Down the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off to turn off the phone completely before beginning.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the card tray and press firmly to eject it.

Heat the Rear Cover
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the rear cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear panel and pull upward to create a slight gap.

Insert an Opening Pick
1 minSlide an opening pick into the seam created between the rear glass cover and the side frame.

Slice Bottom Adhesive
2 minSlide the opening pick along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive holding the cover.

Slice Side Adhesive
2 minGuide opening picks along the left and right sides to separate the remaining perimeter adhesive.

Remove Rear Cover
1 minGently lift the rear panel off the phone frame and place it safely aside.

Unscrew Midframe Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the internal midframe shield.

Pry Off Midframe Shield
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the plastic midframe shield and lift it away.

Disconnect Battery Connector
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

1 minApply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the edges of the battery well.

1 minSlide a thin plastic opening card under the side edge of the battery cell.
