Step-by-step
- 1
Power down the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button on the rear, then select 'Power off' on screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove the rear cover
1 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the small notch near the charging port. Pry upward to unclip and lift away the flexible back cover.

Remove the battery
1 minInsert your fingernail or a plastic pry tool into the recess at the bottom of the battery. Lift the battery up and out of the phone body.

Remove SIM and microSD cards
1 minPress and slide the microSD card and micro-SIM card out from their stacked slot above the battery bay.

Unscrew the rear midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all 14 screws securing the rear housing midframe.

Detach the side rails
2 minInsert a plastic opening tool under the stainless steel Dura Guard side rails. Carefully unsnap both the left and right metal guards from the frame.

Unclip the midframe housing
2 minSlide a plastic pry tool around the seam between the front frame and rear plastic housing. Pop the plastic midframe free from the chassis.

Locate the loudspeaker module
1 minFind the rectangular loudspeaker assembly situated at the bottom section of the removed midframe.

Pry out the old speaker
2 minUse a fine spudger or tweezers to gently lift the old loudspeaker module out of its plastic socket in the housing.

Clean the motherboard contact pads
1 minLightly dampen a microfiber cloth with high-concentration isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the gold contact pads on the motherboard.

Press the new speaker into place
2 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker into the midframe cavity with its gold spring pins facing outward. Press gently until it sits flush.

Reattach the midframe housing
2 minAlign the midframe over the front assembly and press down along the edges until all plastic perimeter clips snap securely into place.

Reinstall the metal side rails
2 minPosition the stainless steel Dura Guard side rails along the left and right edges. Press firmly until they lock onto the phone body.

Fasten the midframe screws
3 minReinsert and tighten the 14 Phillips #000 screws into the rear midframe until snug.

Reinsert cards and battery
2 minSlide the SIM and microSD cards back into their slot, insert the battery, and snap the rear cover firmly back onto the phone.
After your LG V10 speaker repair
Power the V10 back on and test the speaker repair function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair.
