Step-by-step

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or thin paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray on top of the phone. Press firmly to pop out the tray and remove it completely.

Heat the back glass panel
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer set to low heat to warm the edges of the back glass for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the factory adhesive holding the cover in place.

Attach a suction cup
2 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass panel. Pull gently upward to create a slight gap between the glass and the phone frame.

Slice the rear adhesive
5 minInsert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slowly slide the pick along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

Lift away the back glass
1 minCarefully tilt the back glass panel up from the frame once all sides are sliced. Set the back glass aside in a safe location.

Unscrew the wireless charging pad
4 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 14 screws securing the wireless charging coil and upper midframe shield. Keep the screws organized by location.

Pry off the upper midframe shield
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the edge of the upper plastic shield. Gently lift up to release the clips and remove the wireless charging assembly.

Disconnect the battery flex cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the battery connector straight up from the logic board. This prevents accidental electrical shorts during repair.

Disconnect the display cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to carefully unclip the display ribbon cable connector from the motherboard.

Disconnect the main interconnect cable
1 minUnclip the lower main ribbon cable connector located on the lower portion of the logic board.

2 minUse tweezers or a spudger to detach the front-facing camera ribbon cable from its board socket.

Disconnect the antenna coaxial cables
3 minUse tweezers to carefully unsnap the blue and white coaxial antenna connectors from the logic board. Lift straight up near the connector head to avoid damaging the sockets.

Remove the logic board retaining screw
1 minUse a Phillips #000 driver to remove the single small screw securing the upper corner of the logic board to the frame.

Remove the logic board
2 minGently lift the logic board out of the phone frame starting from the bottom edge. Ensure no loose cables get snagged while lifting.

Install the replacement logic board
3 minPosition the new logic board into the phone frame top-first, ensuring ports line up with the frame cutouts before pressing it flat.
