Step-by-step

Eject SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top edge of the device. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it.

Heat the rear glass
3 minApply a heat gun or heated pad around the edges of the back glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the rear glass and pull upward firmly to create a gap.

Insert an opening pick
1 minInsert a thin opening pick into the gap between the rear glass and the frame at the bottom edge.

Slice the perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide the pick carefully around all four sides of the phone to cut through the glass adhesive.

Remove the back glass
1 minLift the rear panel completely off the device and set it aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew the upper midframe
3 minRemove the ten Phillips #00 screws securing the upper wireless charging assembly.

Remove the wireless charging coil
2 minPry up the edge of the wireless charging cover with a spudger and remove the panel.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to detach the battery press-connector from the motherboard.

Unscrew the lower speaker housing
2 minRemove the six Phillips #00 screws securing the loudspeaker module at the bottom of the phone.

2 minInsert a spudger under the lower speaker module and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect the interconnect flex cable
1 minPry up the main flex cable connector from the bottom charging port sub-board.

Disconnect the antenna coaxial cables
2 minUse tweezers to carefully pop off the white and black coaxial cables from the sub-board terminals.

Unscrew the sub-board
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the charging port sub-board to the frame.

Pry out the old sub-board
2 minSlide a plastic opening tool underneath the charging port sub-board and lift it out.

Place the replacement sub-board
2 minAlign the new USB-C charging board with the recess in the lower frame and press it gently into place.

Secure the sub-board screw
1 minReinstall the single Phillips #00 screw to anchor the sub-board to the chassis.

Reconnect coaxial cables
2 minAlign and snap the white and black antenna connectors onto their matching sub-board sockets.

Reconnect the main flex cable
1 minPress the interconnect flex cable down onto the sub-board connector until it snaps into place.

Reinstall the loudspeaker

2 minAlign the rear glass precisely over the phone frame and press firmly along the perimeter to seal it.
