Step-by-step

Power down device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select the power off option on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Eject SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject pin into the hole on the right edge of the frame to pop out and remove the tray.

Heat rear glass cover
3 minApply a heat gun or heating pad around the perimeter of the back glass for 2-3 minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower back glass panel near the bottom edge.

Insert opening pick
2 minPull up on the suction handle to create a tiny gap and slide a thin opening pick between the frame and rear glass.

Slice perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide the opening pick along all four sides of the back panel to fully separate the adhesive gasket.

Unplug fingerprint sensor cable
2 minSlightly lift the rear glass from the right side and use a spudger to pop off the fingerprint reader ribbon cable connector.

Remove rear glass cover
1 minLift the rear glass completely off the phone chassis and set it aside on a clean surface.

Unbolt midframe screws
3 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws holding down the upper wireless charging coil assembly and midframe.

Remove wireless charging coil
2 minGently pry up the edges of the wireless charging assembly and lift it off the device body.

Unbolt loudspeaker housing
2 minUnscrew the Phillips #00 screws securing the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the frame.

Detach loudspeaker module
2 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath the loudspeaker housing and pry it up from the bottom frame.

Disconnect battery cable
1 minLever the plastic spudger under the battery connector to detach it from the logic board for electrical safety.

Unplug coaxial antenna cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to carefully pop off the white and black coaxial antenna connectors from the charging port board.

Disconnect main flex cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to disconnect the main interconnect ribbon cable from the top of the daughterboard.

Remove daughterboard retaining screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips #00 screw securing the charging port daughterboard to the chassis.

Pry out damaged daughterboard
2 minInsert a plastic spudger under the edge of the charging port board and lift it out of the recess.

Position replacement daughterboard
2 minPlace the new charging port daughterboard into the bottom frame recess and align the screw hole and port opening.

Secure daughterboard screw
1 minReinstall and tighten the single Phillips #00 screw to fix the new board to the chassis.

Reconnect main flex cable
1 minAlign the interconnect ribbon cable connector over its socket on the daughterboard and press straight down until it clicks.

Snap coaxial antenna cables
2 minAlign the black and white coaxial cable heads over their circular sockets on the board and gently snap them into place.

Reconnect battery press-connector
1 minAlign the battery flex connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly to restore power connections.

Reinstall loudspeaker housing
2 minSet the loudspeaker module back over the lower assembly and tighten its retaining Phillips #00 screws.

Reattach wireless charging coil
3 minPlace the wireless charging assembly back in position and tighten all remaining midframe Phillips #00 screws.

Connect fingerprint cable
2 minHold the rear glass close to the body and press the fingerprint sensor connector back onto its socket.

Seal back cover
3 minApply new rear cover adhesive strips, press the back glass firmly against the chassis, and reinsert the SIM tray.
