   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to shut down the phone completely.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the right edge of the frame to remove the SIM and microSD card tray.

   Heat the back glass

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the outer edges of the rear glass cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass cover near the USB-C port.

   Create an opening gap

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap between the glass back cover and the aluminum frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge of the phone.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Slide the opening pick slowly along the bottom edge of the device to cut through the factory adhesive.

   Slice the left edge adhesive

   Slide a pick up the left side of the back cover, keeping the pick shallow to avoid damaging internal flex cables.

   Slice the top edge adhesive

   Move the pick carefully across the top perimeter of the rear glass assembly.

    Slice the right edge adhesive

    Guide the pick down the right edge of the rear glass to complete cutting the perimeter adhesive.

    Lift the rear glass slightly

    Gently lift the back glass up from the right side like a book, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor cable.

    Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

    Use a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Remove the rear glass

    Set the rear glass panel aside in a safe, dust-free location.

    Unscrew the midframe

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 14 screws securing the upper midframe and wireless charging pad.

    Remove the midframe shield

    Use tweezers to lift and remove the plastic midframe shield containing the wireless charging coil and NFC antenna.

    Disconnect the battery press connector

    Pry the main battery flex connector straight up from the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

    Apply battery adhesive remover

    Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol along the gaps surrounding the battery to dissolve the strong lower adhesive.

    Pry the battery upward

    Insert a flat plastic opening card beneath the bottom corner of the battery and slowly pry it upward.

    Remove the battery

    Lift the original battery out of the frame housing once the adhesive yields.

    Clean the battery well

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery compartment using a lint-free cloth dabbed in isopropyl alcohol.

    Install new battery adhesive

    Peel and stick fresh pre-cut battery adhesive strips into the empty battery bay.

    Position the new battery

    Align the replacement battery into the frame well and press firmly into place.

    Connect the battery cable

    Press the battery flex connector firmly onto the motherboard terminal until it clicks.

    Reinstall the midframe cover

    Place the wireless charging assembly back onto the device and re-fasten the 14 Phillips screws.

    Reconnect fingerprint sensor and seal

    Plug in the fingerprint sensor, apply new rear frame adhesive, and press the back glass panel securely onto the frame.
