   Power off the LG G8 ThinQ

   Press and hold the power button on the right side, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the right edge of the device. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the rear glass cover

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer on medium heat around the rear glass perimeter for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup to rear glass

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass. Gently pull up on the ring to create a small gap between the glass and metal frame.

   Slice through rear glass adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick along all four edges to cut the perimeter adhesive.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex

   Slightly lift the rear cover starting from the left side. Use a spudger to gently pop off the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable from the motherboard.

   Remove upper midframe screws

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the plastic wireless charging coil and upper midframe shield.

   Remove lower speaker screws

   Unscrew the 4 Phillips #000 screws securing the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the device.

   Detach wireless charging assembly

   Insert a spudger under the top edge of the plastic midframe shield and gently pry up to unclip and remove it.

    Remove loudspeaker module

    Pry up the lower speaker module from the phone chassis using a spudger and set it aside.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Locate the battery flex connector on the lower section of the logic board and pop it off with the flat end of a spudger.

    Disconnect the display flex cable

    Locate the display ribbon cable near the bottom of the motherboard and disconnect it using your spudger.

    Heat the front display assembly

    Apply heat around all four edges of the front screen for 3 to 4 minutes to loosen the strong factory display adhesive.

    Slice front screen adhesive

    Attach a suction cup to the lower front glass and pull upward. Insert an opening pick into the seam and slide it along the frame edges.

    Separate display from frame

    Carefully tilt the damaged screen up from the chassis, threading the display flex cable out through the slot in the metal frame.

    Clean frame adhesive residue

    Scrape away lingering adhesive from the frame ledges using tweezers, then wipe the perimeter clean with high-percentage isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new display adhesive

    Lay pre-cut adhesive strips along the inner rim of the phone frame, pressing down firmly before removing the protective backing strips.

    Mount the replacement display

    Thread the new screen's flex cable through the frame opening and align the display squarely inside the frame rails, pressing gently to seal.

    Reconnect internal components and reassemble

    Attach the display and battery flex cables, reinstall the midframe and speaker housings, secure all Phillips screws, and adhere the rear glass.
