Step-by-step

Heat the Rear Glass
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the outer edges of the rear glass cover for 2 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Apply Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the rear glass, close to the bottom edge.

Create an Opening Gap
2 minPull up on the suction cup while inserting a thin plastic prying tool into the seam between the glass and the frame.

Slice Rear Glass Adhesive
4 minSlide plastic prying picks slowly along all four edges of the back cover to cut through the perimeter adhesive.

Lift Back Cover Slightly
1 minCarefully lift the left edge of the glass like a book, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor

Disconnect Antenna Cables
2 minUse tweezers to carefully unsnap the two coaxial antenna cables from the bottom daughterboard.

Pry Up Sub-Board
2 minGently pry the daughterboard—which houses the primary microphone and USB-C port—out of its recess in the frame.

Position Replacement Sub-Board
2 minSet the new sub-board into the bottom well of the frame and press it gently into place.

Snap Antenna Cables
2 minUse tweezers to align and snap the coaxial antenna connectors securely onto the replacement board.

Reconnect Interconnect Cable
