   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray on the right edge. Remove the SIM and microSD card tray completely.

   Heat the rear glass edges

   Use a heat gun on low power or a hair dryer to warm the perimeter of the back glass for two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive underneath.

   Attach the suction cup

   Press a heavy-duty suction cup onto the lower third of the rear glass. Pull upward gently to create a small gap between the glass and the body.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick around the perimeter to sever the adhesive bonds.

   Pivot the rear glass open

   Gently lift the right edge of the back glass like a book cover. Do not lift it completely off yet, as the fingerprint sensor cable is still connected.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable

   Use a spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor press connector straight up off the motherboard. Lift away the back glass.

   Unscrew the midframe and speaker cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all 14 screws securing the upper wireless charging assembly and lower speaker housing.

   Remove the wireless charging midframe

   Pry up the edges of the upper midframe and wireless charging coil using a spudger. Lift and set the midframe aside.

   Remove the loudspeaker housing

   Insert a flat tool beneath the lower speaker module and pry it out of the chassis. Store it safely.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Use a plastic spudger to disconnect the battery flex connector from the motherboard. This cuts power to the phone during repair.

    Disconnect the charging port interconnect flex

    Unplug the display and lower ribbon cable connectors from the sub-board using the pointed end of a spudger.

    Unfasten and lift the daughterboard

    Remove any remaining daughterboard retention screws and carefully pry the charging port board out of the phone frame.

    Apply flux to the USB-C port

    Dispense a small amount of rosin flux onto the mounting legs and surface-mount pins of the damaged USB-C port.

    Desolder the damaged USB-C port

    Heat the port's mounting pins with a soldering iron while applying gentle upward pressure with tweezers to free the port from the board.

    Clean the solder pads

    Lay desoldering braid over the contacts and press with the iron tip to absorb leftover solder. Wipe clean with isopropyl alcohol.

    Position the new USB-C port

    Align the fresh USB-C port's pins and structural legs with the corresponding solder pads on the daughterboard.

    Solder the new charging port

    Apply fresh solder to the anchor legs first to lock the port in place, then carefully solder each small data pin.

    Reinstall the daughterboard

    Place the daughterboard back into the chassis cavity and reconnect all interconnect ribbon cables securely.

    Reconnect the battery and speaker

    Plug the battery connector back into the mainboard, then snap the lower loudspeaker housing into place.

    Reattach the midframe and back cover

    Reinstall the wireless charging midframe, tighten the 14 screws, reconnect the fingerprint flex, and seal the back glass with fresh adhesive.
