   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power button on the right edge of the phone, then select Power Off on the screen.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the right side of the phone to pop out the SIM card tray.

   Heat the rear glass

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the outer edges of the rear glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower third of the back glass and pull up gently to create a small gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide the thin tip of a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the rear glass and the frame.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Slide the pick along the bottom edge of the glass panel to cut through the factory adhesive sealant.

   Slice the side adhesive

   Move the pick around the bottom corners and up along both long edges, reheating the glass if you feel resistance.

   Slice the top adhesive

   Carefully slide the opening pick across the top edge, taking care not to insert the pick more than 3 mm.

   Lift the rear cover

   Gently hinge the rear glass open from the right side like a book, taking care not to strain the fingerprint flex cable.

    Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

    Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the fingerprint reader press connector straight up from the motherboard.

    Remove the back glass

    Lift the rear cover completely off the phone body and set it aside in a safe location.

    Unscrew the upper midframe

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 14 screws securing the wireless charging coil and midframe cover.

    Remove the wireless charging assembly

    Gently pry up the wireless charging pad and midframe starting from the top edge, then lift it clear of the chassis.

    Disconnect the battery

    Use a plastic spudger to disconnect the battery press connector from its socket on the motherboard.

    Apply adhesive remover

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery well.

    Pry up the battery

    Insert a flat plastic opening card under the bottom edge of the battery and gradually leverage it upward.

    Remove the old battery

    Lift the battery out of the frame once the underlying adhesive releases completely.

    Clean the battery compartment

    Wipe away any leftover adhesive residue inside the recessed battery well using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.

    Install replacement adhesive

    Peel the protective backing from new battery adhesive strips and press them firmly into the battery compartment.

    Install the new battery

    Align the replacement battery into the compartment and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.
