Step-by-step
- 1
Remove the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole at the top edge of the phone to eject the SIM tray.

Heat the rear glass
2 minApply heat evenly around the outer edges of the back glass with a heat gun for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach the suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear glass near the bottom edge.

Insert a plastic pick
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap and slide a plastic opening pick under the back cover.

Slice the rear adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the back glass to slice through the factory adhesive.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minGently lift the back glass and use tweezers to detach the fingerprint sensor connector from the motherboard.

Unscrew the upper midframe
3 minRemove the 14 Phillips #00 screws securing the upper midframe and wireless charging pad.

Remove the wireless charging pad
2 minPry up the plastic midframe assembly starting from the top right edge and lift it clear.

Remove the loudspeaker assembly
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pop up and remove the bottom loudspeaker module from the chassis.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the battery press connector from the motherboard.

Disconnect display flex cables
1 minUnplug the display ribbon cable and digitizer connectors attached near the lower motherboard area.

Warm the battery adhesive
2 minApply mild heat to the front screen directly over the battery area for 1 minute to weaken the glue.

Pry out the battery
3 minInsert a flat plastic spudger beneath the battery edges and slowly lever it up until it detaches.

Heat the front display
3 minApply heat around the front perimeter of the phone for 2 to 3 minutes to loosen the screen glue.

Separate the damaged screen
4 minInsert a thin prying pick under the display bezel and work around the perimeter to detach the screen.

Clean the frame bezel
4 minScrape off all old adhesive tape and broken glass shards from the interior bezel using isopropyl alcohol and a spudger.

Apply new display adhesive
3 minAlign and press new pre-cut double-sided adhesive strips along the inner perimeter of the phone chassis.

Install the new screen assembly
3 minFeed the new display flex cable through the chassis slot and firmly press the screen into the frame bezel.
