Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before beginning.

Heat the rear glass
2 minApply heat to the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the glass.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass back cover. Press down firmly to establish a strong seal.

Create an opening seam
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap at the bottom edge. Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap.

Slice bottom adhesive
2 minSlide the opening pick horizontally along the bottom edge to cut through the adhesive. Keep the pick shallow to avoid damaging internal components.

Slice side adhesives
3 minGuide the pick around the corners and up both long edges of the phone. Reapply heat if the pick encounters heavy resistance.

Remove the rear glass cover
1 minGently lift the back glass off the chassis. Place it on a clean workspace mat.

Unscrew the wireless charging frame
3 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the wireless charging pad and midframe cover. Place the screws in a secure container.

Remove the wireless charging module
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the upper midframe shield. Pry up carefully to release and remove the wireless charging assembly.

Disconnect the battery
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the battery press connector from the motherboard. This prevents electrical shorts during repair.

Unscrew the loudspeaker assembly
2 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker housing to the frame.

Remove the loudspeaker
2 minPry the bottom loudspeaker housing out of the frame using a plastic prying tool. Set it aside.

Disconnect the daughterboard flex cable
1 minUse a spudger to pop the main interconnect flex cable off the top of the charging port board.

Disconnect antenna coaxial cables
2 minUse tweezers to carefully unclip the white and blue antenna cable connectors from the charging daughterboard.

Unscrew the daughterboard
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the charging port board in place.

Pry up the old charging board
2 minInsert a flat tool beneath the daughterboard and lift it out of its recessed slot in the frame.

Install the replacement daughterboard
2 minPosition the new charging port board into the lower frame housing. Press firmly down until it snaps flush into place.

Secure and reconnect the board
3 minReinstall the securing screw, then reconnect the main flex cable and antenna connectors using tweezers and a spudger.
