Step-by-step
- 1
Turn off the phone
1 minPower down your LG G7 ThinQ completely and disconnect any connected cables.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole at the top edge to remove the card tray.

Heat the rear glass
2 minApply heat around the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes using a heat gun or hair dryer.

3 minCarefully work the pick around the left, right, and top edges, keeping the pick insertion under 5mm.

Disconnect the fingerprint cable
2 minGently lift the rear glass slightly and use a spudger to pop off the fingerprint sensor flex cable.

Remove the rear glass
1 minLift the rear glass cover completely off the phone body and lay it face down.

Unscrew the midframe
4 minRemove the 14 Phillips #00 screws securing the upper midframe shield and lower speaker module.

Remove the midframe assembly
2 minUse a spudger to unclip and remove the upper plastic midframe containing the wireless charging coil.

Remove the speaker module
2 minPry up and remove the speaker housing cover located at the bottom of the phone frame.

Disconnect the battery connector
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

Apply isopropyl alcohol
2 minApply several drops of high-purity isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery well.

Pry out the old battery
3 minInsert a flat plastic card or wide spudger under the battery to break the softened adhesive and lift it out.

Clean the frame recess
2 minScrape away remaining adhesive from the battery cavity using isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth.

Apply new battery adhesive
2 minLay fresh adhesive strips into the battery recess and peel away the protective film.

Install the new battery
2 minPlace the new battery into the cavity and press firmly, ensuring the flex cable aligns with the motherboard socket.
