Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM card tray on the top edge. Press firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

Heat the Back Glass
2 minApply a heat gun or heated iOpener around the edges of the rear glass for 2 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
5 minAttach a suction cup to the lower back panel and pull up slightly to create a gap. Insert an opening pick and slide it along the perimeter to cut the adhesive.

Disconnect the Fingerprint Sensor
2 minGently lift the back glass slightly from the right side. Use a spudger to detach the fingerprint reader press connector from the motherboard before fully removing the rear glass.

Unscrew the Upper Midframe Cover
3 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket and NFC assembly.

Remove the Plastic Bracket
2 minPry up the upper plastic motherboard cover with a spudger and lift it off the frame.

Disconnect the Battery
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex cable directly up from its socket to cut power to the logic board.

3 minDetach the display cable, interconnect cable, and audio jack cable press connectors from the logic board using a spudger.

Remove Camera Modules
2 minDisconnect and remove the front-facing and rear camera modules from the logic board using tweezers.

2 minRemove the small Phillips screws securing the logic board to the aluminum chassis.

2 minPry up gently under the edge of the logic board with a spudger and carefully lift it out of the frame.

2 minApply a small amount of soldering flux to the damaged solder joints or micro-components needing repair on the board.

Reflow Board Connections
10 minUse a fine-tip soldering iron and desoldering braid to re-solder or reflow the damaged pins or trace connections.
