Step-by-step

Power Down Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off to turn off your LG G6 completely.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or straightened paperclip into the hole on the right side of the device to pop out the SIM tray.

Heat Rear Glass
3 minApply heat to the outer edges of the rear glass with a heat gun on low for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear glass panel and pull upward to create a small gap.

Slice Rear Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic prying tool into the gap and slowly slide it along all four edges to slice through the perimeter adhesive.

Remove Back Glass
1 minCarefully lift the rear glass off the phone body once all adhesive has been separated.

Unscrew Midframe and Speaker
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 11 screws securing the upper antenna shield and bottom speaker module.

Remove Upper Midframe
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the upper midframe and lift it out of the phone.

Remove Old Speaker Module
2 minPry up the bottom loudspeaker module using a spudger and remove it from the lower chassis.

Install New Speaker Module
2 minPlace the replacement loudspeaker into the bottom cavity and press gently until it sits flush.

Reinstall Upper Midframe
2 minPosition the upper midframe assembly over the motherboard and press down until it clips into place.

Secure Rear Screws
3 minReinstall the 11 Phillips #00 screws to firmly secure both the upper midframe and lower loudspeaker.

Clean Old Adhesive
4 minPeel away old adhesive strips from the phone frame using tweezers and wipe the edges with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply New Rear Adhesive
3 minAlign and press a pre-cut replacement adhesive gasket onto the back frame of the phone, then remove the protective film.

Reattach Back Glass
2 minAlign the back glass cover with the phone body and press firmly along all edges to seal the adhesive.
After your LG G6 speaker repair
Power the G6 back on and test the speaker repair function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair. If something fails after closing the device, reopen carefully and reseat the connectors for this LG G6 job before assuming the part is defective. Keep leftover adhesive and screws labeled in case you need a second pass.
