Safety
- Power off the phone completely before beginning any internal repair.

Step-by-step
- 1
Remove the rear cover
1 minInsert a plastic prying tool into the notch at the bottom corner of the back panel and pry gently to unclip the rear cover.

Remove the battery
1 minUse your fingernail or a plastic prying tool at the bottom recess to lift and remove the battery from its well.

Eject SIM and microSD cards
1 minSlide the SIM card and microSD card out of their respective slots and set them aside.

Unscrew the midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 11 screws securing the plastic midframe to the display assembly.

Detach the midframe
2 minInsert a plastic opening tool between the frame edge and assembly, sliding along the perimeter to pop the plastic clips free.

Disconnect the front camera
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the front-facing camera press connector straight up from the logic board.

Disconnect the display connector
1 minPry up the main display press connector from the upper portion of the logic board with a spudger.

Lift out the logic board
2 minGently lift the logic board up from the top edge and remove it from the phone frame.

Transfer the rear camera
2 minDisconnect the rear camera press connector from the old motherboard and attach it to the replacement logic board.

Seat the new logic board
2 minAlign the replacement logic board over the frame pegs and lower it carefully into place.

Reconnect press connectors
2 minPress down gently on the front camera and display connectors until they snap into place on the logic board.

Snap the midframe into place
2 minPosition the plastic midframe over the phone assembly and press around the edges until all clips click shut.

Reinstall midframe screws
3 minThread and tighten all 11 Phillips #00 screws to secure the midframe assembly.

Reinsert cards and battery
2 minSlide the SIM and microSD cards back into their slots, reinsert the battery, and snap the back cover back onto the phone.
After your LG G4 logic board repair
Power the G4 back on and test the logic board repair function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair. If something fails after closing the device, reopen carefully and reseat the connectors for this LG G4 job before assuming the part is defective.
