Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the rear power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to shut down the device completely.

Remove the back cover
1 minInsert a plastic prying tool into the notch near the micro-USB port and pop the rear shell off the chassis.

Remove the battery
1 minUse a plastic spudger or your fingernail at the bottom recess to lift the battery out of its compartment.

Remove SIM and MicroSD cards
1 minSlide the SIM card and MicroSD card out from their stacked slot above the battery bay.

Unscrew the rear frame
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 12 identical screws securing the upper and lower rear housing covers.

Detach the upper frame cover
2 minPry up the upper plastic housing surrounding the rear camera and rear buttons, then lift it off.

Remove the lower speaker assembly
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the lower plastic housing and lift the speaker module away.

Disconnect the front-facing camera
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pop the front camera connector straight up off the logic board.

Disconnect the display cable
1 minPry the display press connector straight up from its socket on the upper portion of the motherboard.

Disconnect the digitizer cable
1 minLever the digitizer flex cable connector off its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger.

Disconnect the headphone jack connector
1 minPry the small audio jack assembly flex connector off the logic board.

Lift out the logic board
2 minGently lift the top edge of the logic board and pivot it up to remove it from the display frame.

Transfer components to the new board
3 minUse tweezers to transfer any remaining components, like camera modules, to the replacement logic board if needed.

Position the new logic board
2 minAlign the replacement logic board over the phone frame and gently press it into place.

Reconnect all motherboard connectors
2 minPress down firmly on the front camera, display, digitizer, and headphone jack connectors until they snap into place.

Reinstall frame covers and screws
3 minSnap the upper housing and lower speaker assembly onto the frame, then secure them with the 12 Phillips #00 screws.
After your LG G3 logic board repair
Power the G3 back on and test the logic board repair function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair. If something fails after closing the device, reopen carefully and reseat the connectors for this LG G3 job before assuming the part is defective.
