Step-by-step
- 1
Power Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button on the back panel, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove the Rear Cover
1 minInsert a plastic prying tool or fingernail into the notch near the bottom corner of the rear cover. Pry upward to unclip and remove the cover.

Remove the Battery
1 minLifting from the recess slot at the bottom of the battery compartment, pull the battery up and out of the phone.

Remove the SIM and MicroSD Cards
1 minPress gently on the SIM card and MicroSD card to release them, then slide both cards out from their slot.

Unscrew the Rear Housing
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 13 screws securing the upper and lower housing covers.

Pry Off the Upper Housing
2 minInsert a spudger under the top plastic housing shield and gently pry it upward to detach it from the phone frame.

Remove the Lower Speaker Assembly
2 minWedge a plastic prying tool beneath the bottom speaker module and pop it off the lower frame chassis.

Disconnect the Rear Camera
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to carefully lift the rear camera press connector straight up off the motherboard.

Disconnect the Front Camera
1 minPry up the front-facing camera flex connector located at the top-left area of the motherboard.

Disconnect the Display Connector
1 minGently disconnect the display cable press connector on the right side of the motherboard using a spudger.

Disconnect the Digitizer Cable
1 minLever up the digitizer press connector located near the top edge of the main board.

Disconnect the Headphone Jack Flex
1 minPop open the headphone jack press connector sitting adjacent to the display connector.

Remove the Motherboard
2 minLift the top edge of the motherboard up and tilt it forward to remove it entirely from the chassis.

Secure the Motherboard
2 minPlace the removed motherboard on a heat-safe mat or clamp it securely into a circuit board holder.

Apply Liquid Flux
1 minApply a generous amount of liquid flux across the micro-USB port anchor pads and rear contact pins.

Desolder the Structural Anchors
4 minHeat the four through-hole corner mounting tabs using a soldering iron while absorbing old solder with desoldering braid.

Heat the Port Contacts
3 minUse a heat gun set to 350°C (660°F) to evenly heat the micro-USB port pins until the remaining solder melts.
