Step-by-step

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or straightened paperclip into the hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray and slide it out.

Unclip the rear panel
3 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the seam between the rear cover and the display bezel. Slide it along the perimeter to release the internal plastic clips.

Remove the rear panel
1 minLift the rear cover away from the phone body once all perimeter clips are fully disengaged.

Unscrew the upper housing cover
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the ten screws securing the upper motherboard shield.

Remove the upper housing cover
1 minGently lever the upper plastic shield off the motherboard using a spudger and set it aside.

Unscrew the lower speaker housing
2 minRemove the three Phillips #00 screws holding the speaker module at the bottom of the device.

Remove the lower speaker housing
1 minPry up the lower speaker assembly with a spudger and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket.

Disconnect the display flex cable
1 minPry the display press-fit connector straight off its socket on the logic board using a spudger.

Disconnect the front camera
2 minPop the front-facing camera connector off the board and use tweezers to lift the camera module out.

Disconnect the headphone jack connector
1 minGently lever the headphone jack assembly connector up from the top-right portion of the board.

Disconnect the rear button assembly
1 minDisconnect the rear power and volume key flex cable from its socket on the motherboard.

Disconnect the digitizer cable
1 minUnplug the touchscreen digitizer connector from the side of the logic board.

Pry up the logic board
2 minInsert a spudger under the bottom edge of the motherboard and gently pry it upward from the frame.

Remove the logic board
2 minCarefully tilt and lift the logic board out of the phone, ensuring no flex cables snag during removal.
After your LG G2 logic board repair
Power the G2 back on and test the logic board repair function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair. If something fails after closing the device, reopen carefully and reseat the connectors for this LG G2 job before assuming the part is defective.
