Safety
- Power off the device completely before starting any disassembly.
- Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent ESD damage to internal electronics.
- Do not puncture or bend the internal lithium-ion battery during the repair process.

Step-by-step
- 1
Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole next to the SIM tray on the left edge of the phone. Press firmly to eject the tray and remove it.

Unclip Rear Cover
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the glass screen and the rear plastic casing. Slide the pick around the entire perimeter to release the plastic clips.

Remove Rear Panel
1 minLift the rear panel away from the chassis once all retention clips have been fully unhooked.

Remove Midframe Screws
4 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 13 screws securing the upper plastic shield and lower speaker assembly.

Pry Off Top Shield
2 minInsert a spudger under the top plastic midframe shield and gently pry it off the motherboard.

Remove Speaker Assembly
2 minUse a spudger to pry up the lower speaker housing that covers the charging port assembly and lift it out of the phone.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger to prevent short circuits.

Disconnect Display Flex Cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the display flex cable from the bottom daughterboard.

Disconnect Antenna Cables
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the white and black coaxial antenna cables off their connectors on the charging port board.

Remove Charging Port Board
3 minInsert a plastic opening tool underneath the charging port daughterboard and pry it up from the adhesive holding it to the frame.

Install Replacement Board
2 minPosition the new charging port daughterboard into the lower recess of the phone body and press down firmly to set the adhesive.

Reconnect Antenna Cables
3 minAlign and carefully snap the coaxial antenna cable heads back onto their respective terminals on the new board using tweezers.

Connect Display Flex Cable
2 minAlign the display flex connector over its socket on the daughterboard and press down until it clicks into place.

Reconnect Battery Cable
1 minPress the battery connector down onto the motherboard socket until it securely snaps into place.

Reinstall Speaker Assembly
2 minSet the lower speaker cover back over the charging port board and press along the edges to clip it into position.

Reinstall Top Shield
2 minPlace the upper motherboard shield onto the top of the chassis and press down to engage the plastic tabs.

Secure Midframe Screws
4 minReinsert and tighten the 13 Phillips #00 screws to firmly secure both the upper and lower midframe assemblies.

Reattach Rear Panel
2 minAlign the back cover with the phone body and press firmly around the entire border until all clips snap flush.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush with the casing.
After your LG G2 charging port repair
Power the G2 back on and test the charging port repair function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair. If something fails after closing the device, reopen carefully and reseat the connectors for this LG G2 job before assuming the part is defective. Keep leftover adhesive and screws labeled in case you need a second pass.
