Step-by-step

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the bottom edge to pop out the SIM tray. Remove the tray completely.

Heat the Rear Cover
3 minApply heat using a heat gun set to low heat along the rear edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear glass. Pull upward gently to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap created near the bottom edge. Take care not to insert it deeper than 3 mm.

Slice Rear Adhesive
4 minMove the pick carefully along all four sides of the rear cover to cut through the perimeter tape.

Remove the Rear Glass
1 minLift the rear glass cover away from the device body and set it aside.

Unscrew Midframe Bracket
3 minRemove the Torx T3 screws securing the upper midframe cable shield.

Detach the Battery Connector
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pop the main battery flex connector straight up from the motherboard.

Unscrew Speaker Assembly
2 minRemove the four Torx T3 screws holding the loudspeaker housing at the bottom.

Pry Out Damaged Speaker
2 minInsert a flat plastic spudger underneath the speaker enclosure edge and lift it out.

Install New Speaker Module
2 minAlign the new speaker module with the bottom recess and press it firmly into place.

Secure Speaker Screws
2 minReinstall the four Torx T3 screws to clamp the speaker housing to the frame.

Reconnect the Battery
1 minAlign the battery flex connector over its socket and press down until it clicks.

Reattach Rear Glass
3 minApply new pre-cut adhesive strips and firmly press the rear glass back onto the chassis.

Power the Pixel Fold back on and test the speaker repair function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair.
