Step-by-step
- 1
Turn Off Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Shut Down on the screen. Ensure the device is fully powered off before proceeding.

Heat Back Glass
3 minApply a heat gun set to low warmth along the outer rear glass edges for 2 minutes. This softens the factory adhesive holding the cover in place.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass panel. Pull gently upward to create a slight gap near the seam.

Slice Adhesive Seal
5 minInsert a plastic prying tool into the seam gap created by the suction cup. Carefully slide it around all four edges to slice through the adhesive.

Lift Back Glass
2 minGently lift the back glass panel off the body of the fold. Set it aside on a clean workspace surface.

Unscrew Midframe Shield
4 minUse your precision screwdriver set to remove the screws securing the metal midframe shield. Keep the screws organized by size for reassembly.

Remove Midframe Shield
2 minGrip the edges of the metal midframe shield with tweezers and lift it off the device chassis.

Disconnect Battery Cable
2 minUse a plastic spudger to carefully pop the battery flex connector straight up from the motherboard. This prevents short circuits while working.

Unscrew Button Retainer
3 minLocate the metal bracket securing the power button flex inside the side frame. Remove the retaining screws holding it in place.

Lift Button Retainer
2 minUse tweezers to lift the metal retaining bracket away from the power button area and store it safely.

Disconnect Power Flex
2 minPry the power button press connector up off the main logic board socket using a plastic spudger.

Remove Faulty Button
3 minGently push the power button assembly inward from the outside frame, then lift it out of the device using tweezers.

Seat New Button
3 minPosition the new power button module into the frame slot from the inside. Ensure the key seats flush with the exterior housing.

Connect Power Flex
2 minAlign the power button flex connector over the logic board socket and press down firmly until it clicks into place.

Secure Button Retainer
3 minPlace the metal retaining bracket back over the power button module and tighten the retaining screws.

Reconnect Battery Cable
2 minPress the battery flex connector back down onto its motherboard socket until fully seated.

Reinstall Midframe Shield
4 minPlace the midframe shield back onto the chassis and secure all retaining screws in their original positions.
