Step-by-step
- 1
Heat the rear glass panel
3 minApply heat evenly along the edges of the outer rear glass cover using a heat gun for 2-3 minutes to soften the frame adhesive.

Attach suction cup to rear panel
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear glass cover and pull upward firmly to create a slight gap.

Slice perimeter adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slowly slide it around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

Remove rear glass cover
1 minLift the rear glass cover off the frame completely and set it aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew lower metal shield
2 minRemove the small screws securing the protective metal shield cover over the bottom daughterboard assembly.

Remove lower metal shield
1 minUse tweezers to lift the metal shield out of the frame and place it safely aside.

Disconnect primary battery flex cable
1 minPry the primary battery flex connector straight up from the motherboard using a plastic spudger to cut power.

Disconnect secondary battery flex cable
1 minPop off the secondary battery connector to ensure all power sources are isolated.

Disconnect main interconnect flex cable
1 minLever the ribbon cable connector off the charging port daughterboard using the flat end of a spudger.

Disconnect antenna coaxial cables
2 minUse fine tweezers to gently unclip the RF coaxial antenna cables connected to the charging port board.

Remove charging port screws
2 minRemove the screws anchoring the USB-C port assembly to the phone chassis.

Remove damaged charging port board
1 minCarefully pry the charging port daughterboard out of its housing in the frame using a plastic spudger.

Position new charging port board
2 minAlign the replacement USB-C port daughterboard into the frame cutout and press it gently into position.

Secure charging port screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the screws to firmly lock the new charging port daughterboard to the frame.

Reconnect antenna coaxial cables
2 minAlign and snap the RF antenna cables securely back onto the corresponding connectors on the new board.

Reconnect main interconnect flex cable
1 minPress the main ribbon cable connector down until it clicks onto the new charging port board.

Reconnect both battery flex cables
1 minSnap the primary and secondary battery flex connectors back into their motherboard sockets.

Reinstall lower metal shield
2 minPlace the metal shield back over the assembly and secure it with its dedicated screws.

Apply fresh rear panel adhesive
3 minClean off remaining old adhesive with isopropyl alcohol and lay a pre-cut adhesive strip onto the frame perimeter.

Reseal outer rear glass
2 minAlign the rear glass cover over the chassis and press firmly along all edges to seat the seal.
