Step-by-step

Power Off and Eject SIM Tray
1 minTurn off your Pixel 9 completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the frame to pop out the SIM tray.

Heat the Back Glass
2 minApply heat around the perimeter of the rear glass using a heat gun or iOpener for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Handle
2 minPlace a suction handle near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull upward to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minInsert a thin opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge of the phone.

Slice Bottom Adhesive
2 minSlide the opening pick carefully along the bottom edge to cut through the perimeter adhesive.

Slice Left Edge
3 minGuide the opening pick around the corner and slide it up the left edge to free the side.

Slice Top Edge
3 minMove the pick across the top border, keeping it shallow to avoid damaging internal sensor flexes.

Slice Right Edge
3 minSlide the pick down the right edge to finish cutting the remaining perimeter adhesive.

Lift the Back Glass
2 minGently hinge open the back panel from the left edge like a book cover.

Disconnect Wireless Charging Coil
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry up the wireless charging coil press connector from the motherboard.

Remove Motherboard Shield Screws
3 minUnscrew the Torx screws holding down the upper motherboard cover and bracket.

Remove Motherboard Shield
2 minUse tweezers to lift the metal shield out of the chassis and set it aside.

Disconnect the Battery
1 minPry up the battery press connector using the flat end of a spudger to disable power.

Unscrew Loudspeaker Module
2 minRemove the retaining screws securing the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the device.

Pry Up Old Loudspeaker
2 minInsert a plastic opening tool under the loudspeaker housing and gently lever it out of the frame.

Install New Loudspeaker
2 minPosition the replacement speaker module into the bottom recess and press it down flush.

Secure Loudspeaker Screws
2 minThread and tighten the retaining screws to firmly lock the loudspeaker in place.

Reconnect Battery
1 minAlign the battery press connector over its socket and snap it straight down into place.

Reattach Motherboard Shield
3 minPlace the motherboard shield back over the board and secure it with the removed Torx screws.

Seal and Reassemble
4 minApply new adhesive strips to the frame, connect the back glass flex, and press the back glass closed.
