Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously, then select Power Off on the screen.

Heat Back Glass Edge
3 minApply heat along the outer edges of the rear panel using a heat gun for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the frame adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower section of the back glass and pull upward gently to create a small gap.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
5 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it carefully around all four edges to cut through the adhesive.

Lift Off Back Cover
2 minCarefully separate the back glass from the frame and set it aside on a soft surface.

Unscrew Speaker Enclosure
3 minRemove the retaining screws holding the lower speaker assembly over the sub-board using your precision screwdriver.

Remove Speaker Module
2 minGently pry up the speaker module using a spudger and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect Battery Flex
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to disconnect the battery press connector from the motherboard to cut power.

Pry Out Old Sub-Board
2 minSlide a thin plastic pick beneath the lower board and gently lift it free from the phone housing.

Position New Microphone Board
2 minPlace the replacement sub-board into the lower housing, aligning it with the alignment pins and screw posts.

Secure Board Screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the screws to secure the new microphone sub-board firmly in place.

Reconnect Internal Cables
2 minPress the interconnect flex cable and the battery connector back into their sockets until they click.

Reinstall Speaker Cover
3 minLower the speaker assembly back into position and tighten all surrounding bracket screws.

4 minClean off old glue with isopropyl alcohol, then line the perimeter with new pre-cut adhesive strips.
