Step-by-step

Power off device
1 minTurn off your Google Pixel 9 Pro completely to prevent electrical shorts during disassembly.

Heat rear glass
2 minApply heat around the edges of the back glass with a heat gun for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear glass and pull upward to create a slight gap.

Insert opening pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap between the glass and the outer frame.

Slice rear adhesive

Remove rear panel

Peel volume flex cable
2 minGently pry and peel the damaged volume button flex cable away from the internal sidewall.

Seat new volume assembly
2 minAlign the replacement volume button flex cable inside the frame and press the buttons flush into the cutouts.

Reinstall volume bracket
2 minPlace the metal bracket back over the volume switch assembly and secure it with its screws.

Reconnect battery flex
1 minAlign and press down on the battery connector until it snaps into place on the motherboard.

Reattach motherboard cover
3 minPosition the metal shield back over the board and tighten all Phillips screws securely.

Seal back glass
4 minApply new pre-cut adhesive along the frame edge and press the rear glass firmly onto the phone.
