Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Heat the display perimeter
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the outer edges of the screen for two minutes. This softens the strong adhesive holding the OLED panel to the frame.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the display glass and press down to secure a firm vacuum seal.

Insert opening pick
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to create a thin gap between the glass and the phone frame. Slide a plastic opening pick directly into the gap.

Slice bottom adhesive
2 minSlide the opening pick horizontally across the bottom edge of the device to cut through the display adhesive.

Slice left edge adhesive
2 minGuide the pick around the bottom-left corner and move it up along the left edge. Do not insert the pick deeper than 3 mm to avoid internal components.

Slice right edge adhesive
2 minInsert a second pick along the bottom-right corner and slide it carefully up the right edge toward the top.

Slice top edge adhesive
2 minGently cut through the top adhesive strip with the pick. Take extra care around the top speaker grill and front-facing camera area.

Pry up the screen assembly
2 minCarefully lift the screen assembly upward from the top, opening it slowly like a book hinge. Do not pull it completely away yet.

Unscrew display cable bracket
2 minLocate the small metal bracket covering the display flex cable connection near the middle of the frame. Remove the securing screws using a precision screwdriver.

Remove metal cable bracket
1 minUse tweezers to lift the metal shield bracket off the motherboard and set it aside safely.

Disconnect display flex cable

Reinstall cable bracket screws
