Safety

Step-by-step

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the frame to pop out and remove the SIM card tray.

Heat the Back Panel
3 minApply uniform heat around the edges of the back cover using a heat gun on low for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
4 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull upwards, and insert a plastic pick into the gap to slice the perimeter adhesive.

Remove the Back Panel
2 minCarefully lift the back cover completely off the chassis and lay it flat on your workspace mat.

Unscrew Midframe Fasteners
4 minUse a Torx T4 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the midframe shield and wireless charging assembly.

Detach Midframe Shield
2 minGently lift and detach the midframe graphite shield using a spudger to expose the motherboard.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
2 minPry up the battery press connector from the logic board using a plastic spudger to remove power.

Disconnect Display and USB Flex Cables
3 minUnplug the display flex cable and bottom USB-C board press-connectors from the logic board.

3 minUse the edge of a spudger to disconnect the front camera and main rear camera flex cables from the board.

Remove Rear Camera Module
2 minLift the rear camera array out of its frame housing using blunt tweezers and set it aside.

Disconnect Coaxial Antenna Cables
3 minCarefully pry up the RF coaxial antenna connectors attached along the side edges of the board using tweezers.

Remove Motherboard Screws
3 minUnscrew the remaining Torx screws securing the logic board to the aluminum chassis frame.

Lift Out Logic Board
3 minInsert a spudger under the top edge of the logic board and gently tilt it up to remove it from the frame.

Install Replacement Board and Reassemble
5 minSet the replacement logic board in place, reconnect all flex cables and cameras, and test device boot prior to final sealing.
