   Power off the Pixel 8 Pro

   Press and hold the power button and volume up button simultaneously, then tap 'Power off' on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or thin paperclip into the hole at the bottom left edge of the phone. Push firmly straight in until the tray pops out, then remove it.

   Heat the perimeter of the screen

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to apply mild heat around all four edges of the front display for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the strong screen adhesive.

   Attach the suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass display. Press down firmly to secure a tight vacuum seal.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull up gently on the suction cup handle to create a tiny gap between the glass and the phone frame. Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap.

   Slice through display adhesive

   Slowly slide the plastic pick along the bottom, sides, and top edges of the device to cut through the display adhesive sealant. Reapply mild heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.

   Open the display panel

   Gently swing the right side of the screen open toward the left, like turning a book cover. Do not pull the screen away entirely, as it is still connected by delicate ribbon cables.

   Unscrew the display bracket

   Use a T4 Torx screwdriver to remove the single screw holding the metal cable shield over the display connector. Lift the bracket off with tweezers.

   Disconnect the display cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to gently pry the display flex cable connector straight up from the motherboard socket. Set the screen assembly aside safely.

    Remove the midframe screws

    Unscrew all visible T4 Torx screws holding the graphite-coated midframe and thermal shield to the main body.

    Lift out the midframe shield

    Carefully pry up the metal midframe plate starting from the top edge using a plastic prying tool, then lift it out of the phone.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Locate the battery flex connector on the motherboard and use a plastic spudger to pop it straight off its socket, cutting off power.

    Remove the bottom speaker screws

    Use a T4 Torx screwdriver to remove the screws securing the loudspeaker module at the bottom of the housing.

    Pry out the loudspeaker assembly

    Insert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker box and lift it upward to release it from the frame.

    Disconnect the microphone board flex

    Use tweezers or a spudger to lift the press-fit ribbon connector connecting the lower microphone board assembly to the main interconnect ribbon.

    Remove the old microphone board

    Gently insert a plastic opening pick under the small lower microphone daughterboard and pry it up from the chassis adhesive.

    Transfer the rubber microphone gasket

    Use fine tweezers to lift the small rubber acoustic boot off the old microphone and place it precisely onto the microphone of the replacement board.

    Install the new microphone board

    Align the replacement microphone board into the bottom frame cavity, press down gently to set adhesive, and reconnect its ribbon cable press connector.
