Step-by-step

Power down the device
1 minPress and hold the power button to completely shut off the phone before beginning work.

Heat the display perimeter
3 minApply a heat gun set to low heat around the edges of the display for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the frame adhesive.

Attach the suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and gently pull upward to create a small gap.

Insert an opening pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created between the glass display assembly and the aluminum body.

Slice the perimeter adhesive
4 minGuide the plastic pick slowly around the entire perimeter of the screen to cut through the display adhesive.

Open the display
2 minCarefully tilt the screen open from the left edge like a book cover, making sure not to strain the ribbon cable.

Unscrew the display cable bracket
2 minUse a Torx T4 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal shield over the display connector.

Disconnect the display cable
2 minPry the display flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

Eject the SIM card tray

Remove the midframe screws

3 minUnplug the rear camera array and front-facing camera flex cables from the logic board using a spudger.

Disconnect ribbon and antenna cables
3 minUnplug the lower board interconnect cables, 5G mmWave antenna flex, and USB-C port connector from the board.

Remove motherboard mounting screws
3 minRemove the remaining Torx T4 screws anchoring the logic board to the internal aluminum frame.

Lift out the logic board
3 minGently pry up the logic board from the top edge and lift it clear of the phone housing.
