   Power Down Device

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered off before proceeding.

   Heat Front Screen Edges

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the perimeter of the display for two minutes. This softens the strong display adhesive beneath the glass.

   Attach Suction Handle

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the display screen. Pull up firmly on the handle to create a tiny gap between the glass and the outer frame.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Do not insert the pick deeper than 3 mm to prevent damaging internal flex cables.

   Slice Display Adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the display to slice through the adhesive seal. Reheat the screen perimeter if you feel strong resistance.

   Open Screen Assembly

   Gently swing the right edge of the display open like a book toward the left side. Support the screen so it does not put tension on the connected ribbon cable.

   Unscrew Display Cable Cover

   Use a T4 Torx screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the metal display flex cable bracket. Set the screw aside safely.

   Remove Display Cable Bracket

   Grasp the metal display cable shield with precision tweezers and lift it off the motherboard. Store it with its corresponding screw.

   Disconnect Display Cable

   Pry the display flex cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger. Lift the screen assembly off the body and set it aside.

    Unscrew Midframe Plate

    Remove the T4 Torx screws securing the aluminum midframe panel to the housing chassis. Note the location of each screw for reassembly.

    Remove Midframe Panel

    Gently lever up the edges of the aluminum midframe with a spudger and remove it. This exposes the battery, motherboard, and lower components.

    Disconnect Battery Cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard using a plastic spudger. Disconnecting the battery prevents short circuits.

    Unscrew Loudspeaker Module

    Remove the T4 Torx screws holding the bottom speaker enclosure over the charging port region. Store these screws separately from midframe screws.

    Lift Out Loudspeaker

    Insert a spudger under the edge of the speaker module and lever it up out of the phone frame. Remove the speaker unit to clear access to the port.

    Disconnect Antenna Cables

    Use tweezers or a spudger tip to pry the lower coaxial antenna cable connectors straight up from the charging port daughterboard. Pry under the metallic heads only.

    Remove Port Retaining Bracket Screws

    Remove the T4 Torx screws securing the metal retention bracket over the USB-C port assembly. Lift off the metal bracket.

    Apply Isopropyl Alcohol to Port

    Apply 1-2 drops of high-purity isopropyl alcohol beneath the USB-C port assembly to break down underlying adhesive. Allow 30 seconds for it to penetrate.

    Pry Up Charging Port Assembly

    Insert a flat plastic spudger beneath the USB-C port board and gently lever it away from the chassis. Disconnect the main ribbon interconnect clip attached to it.

    Remove Damaged Port Assembly

    Lift the faulty USB-C charging port completely out of the frame. Inspect the port cutout for lint or leftover adhesive residue.

    Position New Charging Port

    Align the replacement USB-C charging port board over its mounting posts in the lower chassis. Press down firmly to seat it flush inside the frame port opening.

    Secure Port Retention Bracket

    Place the metal charging port bracket back into position over the port board. Fasten it down using the saved T4 Torx screws.

    Reconnect Antenna Cables

    Align the coaxial antenna cable heads directly over their mating surface terminals on the board. Press down gently with a spudger until each clicks securely into place.

    Reinstall Loudspeaker Module

    Set the loudspeaker module into the lower frame housing and press it down into place. Secure it by reinserting its T4 Torx screws.

    Reconnect Battery Flex Cable

    Align the battery press connector over its motherboard terminal and push down until it snaps closed. Ensure it sits flush with no tilt.

    Reinstall Midframe Panel

    Place the aluminum midframe panel onto the device and realign all screw holes. Reinsert and tighten all midframe T4 Torx screws.

    Attach Display Cable and Bracket

    Plug the display flex cable back into its motherboard terminal. Place the metal bracket over the connector and tighten its T4 Torx screw.

    Apply Display Adhesive and Seal

    Apply a new pre-cut perimeter adhesive strip to the frame, align the screen assembly precisely, and press firmly along all edges to seal the display.
