Safety

Power Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power and volume up buttons simultaneously, then tap 'Power off' on the screen.

Heat the Back Panel
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Apply Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear panel and pull up firmly to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup.

Slice Rear Adhesive
5 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to slice through the adhesive perimeter.

Remove Back Panel
1 minGently lift the plastic back cover off the chassis and set it aside.

Unscrew Midframe Assembly
4 minRemove the T4 Torx screws securing the midframe cover plate to the frame.

Remove Midframe Plate
2 minLift the graphite-covered midframe plate out of the device using tweezers.

Disconnect the Battery
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector directly up from the motherboard.

Disconnect Power Button Flex
2 minUse the edge of a spudger to detach the power/volume button flex cable connector from the board.

Free Button Assembly Flex
3 minGently peel the power button flex cable away from the internal sidewall of the frame.

Remove Power Button Metal Retainer
2 minUse fine tweezers to unhook and remove the small metal retention bracket securing the physical power button.

Push Out Power Button Cover
2 minPush the power button actuator outward from inside the frame to remove it.

Install New Power Button
3 minInsert the replacement power button into the housing slot and secure it with the metal bracket.

Adhere New Flex Cable
2 minAlign and press the new power button flex cable onto the inner frame wall.

Reconnect Flex and Battery
2 minPress the button flex connector and battery connector firmly back into their motherboard sockets.

Reattach Midframe Shield
4 minPosition the midframe plate over the motherboard and tighten the T4 Torx screws.

Seal Rear Cover
4 minApply custom cut adhesive strips to the perimeter frame, align the rear cover, and press firmly.
