   Power off the Pixel 7A

   Press and hold the power button and volume up button simultaneously, then tap Power Off on the screen.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom left edge of the phone to remove the tray.

   Heat the back cover edges

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer around the perimeter of the back plastic cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach the suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear panel, near the USB-C port.

   Create an opening gap

   Pull up gently on the suction cup while pressing a thin opening pick into the seam between the back cover and frame.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick along the bottom, sides, and top edges to separate all adhesive holding the back cover.

   Remove the back cover

   Lift the rear panel off the chassis completely and set it aside in a safe area.

   Unscrew the lower graphite shield

   Use a Torx T4 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower metal and graphite cover over the speaker module.

   Unscrew the main midframe shield

   Remove the remaining Torx screws holding down the main metal midframe panel and camera visor brace.

    Remove the upper midframe plate

    Use tweezers to lift and remove the upper midframe shield from the device housing.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press-connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect the main display flex cable

    Use a spudger to gently pop the display cable off the motherboard to prevent accidental damage while working.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol around the battery

    Drip a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery well.

    Release the battery adhesive stretch tab

    Locate the clear adhesive pull tab at the edge of the battery and pull it slowly outward at a low angle.

    Pry out the old battery

    Insert a plastic card or flat spudger beneath the battery and gently lift it out of the recess once the adhesive frees up.

    Clean old adhesive residue

    Wipe the battery housing well with a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol to remove leftover tape.

    Install new battery adhesive strips

    Peel the protective film off the new adhesive strips and press them firmly onto the back of the replacement battery.

    Set the new battery into position

    Align the replacement battery in the housing, ensure the connector reaches the socket, and press down firmly.

    Reconnect display and battery cables

    Snap the display flex cable back into place, followed by the battery connector tab.

    Reinstall the midframe shields

    Place the midframe plates back onto the chassis and tighten all Torx T4 screws until snug.

    Reseal and press the back cover

    Apply new adhesive tape along the frame perimeter, align the back cover, and press firmly along all edges.
