Step-by-step

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left frame. Push firmly until the SIM tray pops out, then pull it completely out.

Heat the Display Edges
2 minApply heat around the perimeter of the screen using a heat gun for two minutes. This softens the strong waterproof adhesive securing the display.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup onto the bottom glass section of the screen. Pull upward on the ring to create a slight gap between the glass frame and body.

Slice Display Adhesive
4 minInsert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam. Slide the pick along all four edges of the phone to cut through the display adhesive.

Unbolt Display Shield Screw
2 minCarefully swing the display open from the left side. Remove the single Torx T3 screw holding the metal display cable bracket in place.

Disconnect the Screen Flex Cable
2 minPry the metal display bracket off using tweezers, then disconnect the screen ribbon cable with a spudger. Set the display panel aside.

Remove Speaker Bracket Screws
3 minLocate the five Torx T3 screws securing the lower loudspeaker assembly over the microphone daughterboard. Remove all five screws.

Pry Out the Loudspeaker Assembly
2 minInsert a spudger under the corner of the loudspeaker housing. Pry upward gently to release the plastic tabs and lift the speaker out.

Disconnect Daughterboard Cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the main interconnect flex cable straight up off its socket on the daughterboard.

Unplug Coaxial Antenna Cables
2 minGrip the metal heads of the two antenna cables near the microphone board with tweezers. Carefully lift them vertically off their round ports.

Remove Daughterboard Fastener
1 minRemove the single Torx T3 screw holding the bottom USB-C and microphone board to the frame.

Remove Failed Microphone Board
2 minSlide a plastic opening tool under the USB-C daughterboard. Lift the board straight up to remove it from the phone frame.

Position New Microphone Board
3 minInsert the replacement daughterboard into the frame recess, ensuring the microphone port aligns with the microphone hole at the bottom. Tighten its screw.

Reconnect Cable Connections
3 minSnap the two antenna coaxial cables back into their round headers. Align and press down firmly on the interconnect cable connector until it clicks.

Reinstall Speaker and Screen
5 minReattach the loudspeaker housing with its screws, reconnect the screen flex cable under its metal shield, apply new adhesive strips, and seal the screen.
