   Power off the Pixel 7

   Press and hold the power and volume up buttons simultaneously, then tap Power Off on the screen. Disconnect all cables before proceeding.

   Heat the display perimeter

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around all four edges of the screen for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach suction cup to screen

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass, just above the USB-C port, and press down firmly to create a seal.

   Slice bottom screen adhesive

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick under the bottom bezel no deeper than 3 mm.

   Slice left edge adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around the bottom-left corner and along the left side of the display to separate the adhesive seal.

   Slice top edge adhesive

   Continue sliding the pick carefully across the top bezel, taking care not to insert the pick deeper than 2 mm near the front camera.

   Slice right edge adhesive

   Slide the pick down the right edge of the screen to release the remaining display adhesive.

   Open display panel

   Gently swing the display open from the right edge like a book page. Do not pull the screen away entirely yet, as it is connected by a cable.

   Unscrew display connector bracket

   Use a T3 Torx screwdriver to remove the single 4.0 mm screw securing the metal display cable bracket.

    Remove display bracket

    Use precision tweezers to lift the metal shield off the display connector and set it aside.

    Disconnect display ribbon cable

    Pry the display flex connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

    Remove display assembly

    Lift the display completely off the chassis and set it face-down on a clean, soft surface.

    Unscrew upper midframe cover

    Use a T3 Torx driver to remove the five 4.0 mm screws holding down the top graphite sheet and bracket.

    Peel graphite thermal sheet

    Gently peel back the black graphite sheet covering the battery and upper circuit board, taking care not to tear it.

    Unscrew wireless charging coil frame

    Remove the seven T3 Torx screws securing the aluminum midframe panel and wireless charging pad.

    Remove midframe panel

    Lift the aluminum midframe panel, along with the integrated wireless charging coil, out of the phone body.

    Disconnect battery cable

    Use the edge of a plastic spudger to pop the battery press connector straight up off the main motherboard socket.

    Apply adhesive remover

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery well to soften the glue.

    Unseat stretch-release adhesive tab

    Locate the exposed clear adhesive tab at the bottom edge of the battery and grasp it firmly using blunt tweezers.

    Pull adhesive strip

    Slowly pull the adhesive tab away from the battery at a flat, low angle until the entire strip stretches out from underneath.

    Pry old battery loose

    Insert a plastic opening card under the side of the battery and gently lever it up out of the rear case. Never use metal tools.

    Clean battery compartment

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery cavity using a lint-free wipe dipped in isopropyl alcohol.

    Install replacement battery

    Apply new adhesive strips to the back of the replacement battery, align the cable with the motherboard socket, and press the battery firmly into place.
