Overview
Step-by-step
- 1
Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously until the power menu appears. Select Power Off and wait for the screen to go dark.
- 2
Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it completely.
- 3
Heat Bottom Edge
2 minApply a heat gun to the bottom edge of the back glass for 2 minutes on low setting. This softens the strong adhesive underneath.
- 4
Apply Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass and press down firmly. Pull up gently to create a small gap between the glass and frame.
- 5
Insert Opening Pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Keep the pick shallow to avoid damaging internal components.
- 6
Slice Bottom Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick back and forth along the bottom edge of the device to cut through the adhesive seal.
- 7
Heat Side Edges
2 minWarm the left and right sides of the back glass with the heat gun for about 2 minutes. Keep the tool moving continuously to prevent localized overheating.
- 8
Slice Side Adhesive
4 minInsert a second opening pick and glide it up the left and right edges toward the camera bar. Leave picks in place to prevent re-sealing.
- 9
Heat Camera Visor Area
2 minApply gentle heat around the aluminum camera visor at the top of the rear glass for 2 minutes. The adhesive surrounding the camera module is particularly firm.
- 10
Slice Upper Adhesive
3 minCarefully trace an opening pick under the upper glass edges surrounding the camera visor. Ensure all perimeter adhesive is fully separated.
- 11
Remove Damaged Glass
2 minGently lift the cracked back glass panel away from the frame assembly. Work slowly to prevent loose glass fragments from scattering.
- 12
Scrape Remaining Adhesive
5 minUse a plastic spudger to scrape off any leftover adhesive strips from the metal chassis.
- 13
Clean Housing Frame
3 minApply isopropyl alcohol to a microfiber cloth and wipe down the frame edges thoroughly. Ensure no residual glass bits or oils remain on the mounting surface.
- 14
Apply Pre-Cut Adhesive
3 minPeel the protective backing from the new adhesive strip and align it precisely onto the phone chassis. Press along all sides to seat it securely.
- 15
Install New Back Glass
2 minRemove the remaining adhesive cover film, align the new glass panel over the camera visor, and press down firmly around all outer edges.
- 16
Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until flush with the frame.
