Step-by-step

Power down phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select power off on the screen to completely shut off the device.

Heat display edges
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the perimeter of the screen for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass display and press firmly to seal.

Create opening gap
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup while pushing a thin plastic prying pick into the seam between the glass and body frame.

Slice display adhesive
3 minSlide the plastic pick around the perimeter of the phone frame, taking care not to insert it deeper than 3mm on the left side.

Open screen assembly
1 minGently swing the screen open from the right side, pivoting it like a book cover.

Remove cable bracket screws
2 minUse a T3 Torx screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the metal display cable shield.

Remove cable shield
1 minLift the small metal shield off the motherboard using tweezers and set it aside.

Disconnect display cable

2 minPry up the black plastic bracket cover covering the speaker assembly using a plastic spudger.

Extract old loudspeaker
2 minUse tweezers or a spudger to lift the old loudspeaker module out of the bottom cavity.

Install new loudspeaker
2 minSet the new replacement loudspeaker module into the lower cavity, ensuring metal contact pads align properly.

Reinstall loudspeaker bracket
3 minPlace the loudspeaker cover housing back into position and secure it with the T3 Torx screws.

Clean adhesive residue
4 minApply isopropyl alcohol to a lint-free cloth and scrape remaining old adhesive off the inner frame edges.

Apply new display adhesive
3 minAlign the pre-cut adhesive gasket with the inner phone frame edges and press firmly into place.

Reconnect display cable
3 minPress the display flex connector into its socket, then reinstall the metal bracket and two T3 Torx screws.

Seal screen to frame
2 minAlign the display over the frame and press firmly around all edges to bond the new adhesive.
