Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power and volume up buttons simultaneously. Tap 'Power off' on the screen and wait until the device shuts down completely.

Heat the front glass
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer set to low heat to warm the outer edges of the screen for two minutes. This softens the display adhesive securing the glass to the frame.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the display glass. Press down firmly to create a tight seal.

Insert opening pick
2 minPull up on the suction cup handle to create a small gap between the glass and the frame. Insert a plastic prying tool into the seam.

Slice bottom adhesive
2 minGently slide the plastic prying tool along the bottom edge of the phone to cut through the adhesive layer. Keep tool insertion depth under 3 mm.

Slice side adhesive
3 minGuide the pick around the bottom corners and up both long sides of the device. Slice through all remaining perimeter adhesive.

Slice top adhesive
2 minCarefully slide the pick across the top edge of the display glass. Take care near the top center speaker mesh and camera area.

Open the screen assembly
2 minGently lift the left side of the display like opening a book cover. Do not pull the screen away entirely yet, as ribbon cables remain connected.

Remove display bracket screws
3 minUse a precision screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal display cable cover bracket. Store the screws safely for reassembly.

Remove display bracket
1 minUse tweezers to lift the metal display retaining bracket off the motherboard connector.

Disconnect display cable
2 minPry the display ribbon cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a spudger. Remove the damaged screen.

Clean frame adhesive
5 minScrape off all old adhesive residue from the perimeter of the aluminum frame using a spudger and isopropyl alcohol. Ensure a clean surface for new adhesive.

Apply adhesive strips
4 minLay fresh double-sided adhesive strips neatly along the inner ledge of the phone frame. Press down firmly and remove the paper backing.

Connect replacement screen
2 minAlign and press the ribbon cable connector of the new screen assembly onto the motherboard socket until it snaps into place.

Reinstall display bracket
3 minSet the metal connector cover back in place using tweezers. Fasten it securely with the precision screws.

Seal display to frame
2 minAlign the new screen over the phone frame carefully. Press down around all four edges to seat the display securely into the adhesive.
