Step-by-step

Power off the Pixel 6
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons, then select Power Off on the screen.

Heat the bottom edge
2 minApply heat to the bottom rear edge with a heat gun for 2 minutes to soften the factory adhesive.

Attach the suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the back glass near the USB-C port.

Create a prying gap
2 minPull upward on the suction cup handle to create a small separation between the glass and frame.

Insert an opening pick
1 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap at the bottom edge of the device.

Heat the left edge
2 minWarm the left perimeter of the rear glass with a heat gun for 90 seconds.

Slice left edge adhesive
2 minGuide your opening pick along the left edge to cut through the softened adhesive strip.

Heat the right edge
2 minApply heat along the right edge of the back panel for another 90 seconds.

Slice right edge adhesive
2 minSlide an opening pick up the right side to release the glue holding the glass frame.

Heat around the camera visor
2 minWarm the glass perimeter around the raised camera bar area for 2 minutes.

Slice camera visor adhesive
3 minCarefully run a pick underneath the top perimeter around the camera bar frame.

Remove the old back glass
2 minLift the cracked back glass panel completely off the phone frame and set it aside.

Clear remaining glass shards
4 minUse tweezers to pluck away loose glass fragments stuck along the internal frame shelf.

Clean the internal adhesive frame
3 minWipe the frame ledge thoroughly with a lint-free cloth dampened with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol.

Apply new perimeter adhesive
3 minAlign and lay down the replacement pre-cut adhesive strips onto the outer frame channel.

Install the replacement back glass
2 minPeel the protective film off the adhesive and press the new rear panel firmly into place.
