   Heat the display perimeter

   Apply heat to the front edges of the display using a heat gun or hairdryer for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the screen assembly.

   Attach the suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the screen near the bottom edge. Ensure a strong seal against the smooth glass surface.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull upward on the suction cup to create a thin gap between the screen and frame. Carefully slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap.

   Slice the screen adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the device to cut through the perimeter tape. Do not insert the pick deeper than 3 mm to avoid damaging internal ribbon cables.

   Hinge open the screen

   Slowly lift the right side of the screen, opening it like a book. Rest the screen upright against a small object so the display cable is not strained.

   Unscrew the display bracket

   Locate the metal shield covering the display connector on the motherboard. Remove the single T5 Torx screw securing the shield.

   Remove the cable shield

   Use tweezers to lift the metal shield off the motherboard and set it aside.

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the display cable press-connector straight up from its socket.

    Remove all T5 Torx screws holding the graphite-covered midframe panel onto the frame. Keep track of the screws by placing them in an organized tray.

    Remove the midframe cover

    Insert a spudger under the edge of the midframe shield plate and lift it off the chassis.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery connector straight up off the motherboard using a plastic spudger to cut all power to the board.

    Dispense a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the outer edges of the battery well. Allow 2 minutes for the solvent to dissolve the factory adhesive.

    Pull the adhesive tabs

    Grasp the pull tabs on the battery adhesive strip with tweezers. Gently pull the tab at a low angle horizontally across the frame to stretch and remove the tape.

    Pry out the old battery

    Insert a plastic pry tool under the battery side opposite the motherboard. Apply steady, gentle pressure to lift the battery out of its bay without bending it.

    Clean the battery compartment

    Wipe the battery bay using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove leftover adhesive and dirt.

    Prepare the replacement battery

    Apply new stretch-release battery adhesive strips to the back side of the replacement battery. Smooth down the tape to ensure solid adhesion.

    Install the new battery

    Lower the replacement battery into the frame, aligning its connector with the socket before pressing the battery body down into place.

    Attach the battery cable

    Align the battery flex connector over its socket and press firmly until you feel it click into place.

    Reinstall the midframe cover

    Set the midframe shield back onto the chassis and align the screw holes.
