Step-by-step

Eject the SIM card tray
2 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole near the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

Heat the front display perimeter
3 minUse a heat gun or heating pad set to 80°C on the front edges for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Insert an opening pick under the display
3 minPlace a suction cup on the lower glass, pull up, and slide an opening pick beneath the bottom screen bezel.

Slice through the screen perimeter adhesive
5 minSlide the pick carefully along the sides and top edge to separate the glue, keeping insertion depth under 3mm.

Unscrew the display cable shield
3 minFold the display open from the right side like a book, then remove the Torx T5 screw holding the metal cable bracket.

Disconnect and remove the display panel
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pop the screen flex cable straight up off the board, then lift the screen away.

Unscrew the midframe assembly
5 minRemove all Torx T5 screws securing the internal graphite plate and midframe to the outer casing.

Disconnect antenna coaxial cables
3 minUse precision tweezers to unclip the white and black antenna coax cables from the bottom of the board.

3 minPry the logic board upward from the top edge and lift it out of the rear shell.

Clean and reflow target components
