   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the Pixel 5a 5G.

   Heat the front glass edges

   Apply heat to the outer edges of the screen using a heat gun set to low for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach the suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the display and press down firmly to secure it.

   Create a display gap

   Pull up on the suction cup with firm, constant pressure to create a slight gap between the glass screen and the frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created between the screen glass and the body casing.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Carefully slide the opening pick along the bottom edge of the device to cut through the perimeter adhesive.

   Slice the side adhesive

   Move the pick around the left and right corners, sliding along the sides while keeping the pick shallow to avoid damaging flex cables.

   Slice the top adhesive

   Slide the pick along the top edge of the display, slicing the remaining screen adhesive bond.

   Open the screen assembly

   Gently lift the top edge of the screen like a book page, keeping the bottom side attached near the cable connector.

    Unscrew the display connector shield

    Use a precision screwdriver to remove the T3 Torx screws securing the metal display cable shield.

    Pull out the adhesive strips

    Slowly pull the adhesive strips out parallel to the device casing, pulling steadily without snapping them.

    Pry out the degraded battery

    Gently lever the battery up using a flat plastic opening card if any adhesive residue remains attached underneath.

    Clean the battery cavity

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery recess using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Install new adhesive strips

    Apply new custom battery adhesive tape strips onto the back side of the replacement battery.

    Set the new battery in place

    Align and press the new replacement battery firmly into the phone housing recess.

    Press the battery connector down onto the motherboard socket until it clicks securely into position.

    Reinstall the midframe cover

    Place the midframe over the phone housing and secure all retained Torx screws firmly into place.

    Lay down fresh perimeter screen adhesive strips around the clean aluminum rim of the frame.
